Art Deco black leather clutch
Art Deco leather clutch with hand painted green and black handle.
My idea was to combine two different styles of bags into one. Customers can use the crossbody bag for the day then remove the leather strap to transform it into a clutch bag for evening wear.
The black leather bag is constructed from the finest whole grain leather, with a moulded removable handle. The handle is hand painted by me with an art deco inspired motif which is attached with brass fittings and can be removed for a different look. As the handle is moulded it fits comfortably around hand for easy carrying. The bag has two magnetic closures, is fully lined inside with suede leather and has two card holder leather pockets.

I would like to keep this very old traditional leather moulding technique alive by using it with contemporary designs. This is a very hands-on method, using vegetable tanned leather which is first soaked in water to soften it then sculpted onto to a cast by hand. Once dry it will retain the desired shape permanently.
